It has been an exciting summer with new programming. We have been pleased to start offering LGBTQIA+ Youth a place to be themselves while connecting with equines. The first two Rein-Bow Connection offerings were a success. We combined learning equestrian skills with connection to equines and ourselves by using grounding exercises in the saddle.

What a humbling and amazing experience: Friends of Laughing Buck Farm put on a Foster family workshop this Sunday. It went really well, and combined a foster parent workshop session for parents with Michele Yarberry and Rachel ran an Equine Assisted learning session for the kiddos focusing on optimism and resilience. For the last 20 minutes or so, parents were allowed to come into the arena and share in the equine assisted activities, including learning something that they may not have known about their Foster child, and doing grounding exercises with the equines. We were later informed that several of the participants made breakthroughs with their foster families immediately after the workshop. How powerful! Many Thanks to Tahnee and Faith at Lutheran Family Services for helping to bring this together, and to Michele for being our amazing Mental Health Professional. Also to Rosemary for offering the farm and equines to the community to allow for such healing to begin. We also want to thank the amazing volunteers who took time out of their weekend to share their love of equines with our participants. Caregivers and foster parents connecting with their foster children in the arena after attending Michele's portion of the workshop. Social/Emotional Learning based questions for the foster children to help them start to think about change, resilience, and optimism.
