Friends of Laughing Buck Farm is excited to offer a curriculum for LGBTQ+ youth (age 10-18) focused on social/emotional learning and emotional resilience by connecting with an equine in a therapeutic environment.

Engender, def. Verb: to be produced or caused; come into existence. To bring to fruition. To become. To cultivate.

Youth in our community who are LGBTQIA+ are some of the most at-risk. EnGender™️ is an equine-assisted therapeutic program that serves the unique social and emotional needs of LGBTQIA+ youth while maintaining an inclusive, open, therapeutic environment through working on leadership, friendship, and connection with equines, both on the ground and in the saddle.*

Our themes will come from the letters in the word GENDER. G-Getting to Know You, E-Emotions, N-Now (Be in the Now), D-Developing Trust, E-Empathy, R-Resilience.

To participate: students must be LGBTQIA+, be willing to commit to a 3 week, 2 hr lesson a week course, and have all pertinent paperwork and releases filled out. Must wear all safety equipment and appropriate, comfortable clothing for being around farm animals and out in the weather.

* Weight limit is 180 lbs for riding. Participants over the weight limit can still participate on the ground in all activities.

INTERESTED?  SEND AN EMAIL  (laughingbuckfarm  @   gmail  .  com) AND WE WILL SEND YOU THE CLASS APPLICATION.
